Temporary home schooling

We have set up our Google Classrooms online, through which the children will be able to access their school work if we have to close the school.

The children just need to log onto their Hwb accounts then choose ‘Google for education’ which is on the main home screen or on the ‘waffle’.

They can then access their assignments which will be in the ‘Classwork’ panel at the top which they can complete online and hand in to me digitally. I can then mark and return their work.

The children can also post on the ‘stream’ which is like the news feed on Facebook but only our class can see it. This is useful if they have any questions or problems that they need to ask me about. I can then reply directly to them.

We hope that this helps you to provide the learning that the children need to continue to progress.

We also encourage you to listen to your children reading as much as possible and to check Giglets and Active Learn regularly for work provided on these websites too.

The school codes are all available on an earlier message on the class page.

Thank you for your continued support,

Kind Regards,

Mrs Goode and Miss Adams

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Due to the precautions that the school has put in place following Welsh government advice, we are cancelling our ‘Cafe Bwyd a Celf y Byd’ next week and our update meeting about Storey Arms.

With regards to Storey Arms, we are in the process of seeking advice about what will happen next. We will, of course, let you know as soon as we have any new information regarding this.

Yours Sincerely,

Mrs Goode and Miss Adams

Homework Update

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

After speaking to the children in Year 4 about homework, we have decided to change how we are currently doing it. We have created a homework grid containing a variety of activities that you might like to complete with your children to support their learning in our Autumn term topic. These activities will run until the Christmas holidays.

These activities can be completed in whichever order is easiest for you. Pupils can bring in their homework once they have completed it. If children are finding any of the homework tricky or if they are having any difficulties with online homework, Miss Adams will start a homework club from Monday 14th October, from 12.45 – 1.15pm, after the children have eaten their lunch. This will take place every Monday.

Many thanks for your continued support,

Miss Adams & Mrs Goode

Year 4 topics and 'Learn its'

Home School Agreement

Croeso i dosbath Miss Adams!

This year we have arranged a variety of exciting topics for the children including 'The Victorians', 'Global Gormet' and 'The Big Dip'. We will update you weekly with the homework task which will be due in the following Monday each week. We will also keep a copy of the 'Learn its' for maths on the website, these are the times table facts that the children need to know. Please encourage your child to spend a little time each week practising them. The children will each have a scheme reading book and a library corner book which they should take home each evening to read and bring into school with them each day. This is important as we aim to read in class every day.

P.E. is on a Monday morning each week so please ensure that the children bring in a weather appropriate kit which they can take home each week to be washed.

For any additional information, please see the power point attached.

Kind Regards,

Miss Adams
