Croeso i Blwyddyn 3!
Please find below the days in which PE lessons will be held for your child’s class. PE lessons will consist of indoor and outdoor lessons so we suggest providing the children with jogging bottoms, t-shirt and trainers. Please ensure these are sent into school in a bag and clearly labelled with your child’s name. These may be left in school on your child’s peg for the half term.
All Year 3 classes have PE on Wednesdays.
We encourage the children to remain hydrated throughout the day. Please provide your child with a water bottle each day clearly labelled with your child’s name. This can be kept in the classroom.
The children are responsible for their own snack. It is possible to bring in your own healthy snack (fruit or vegetables) from home but please ensure that these are kept separately to their lunch bag, as again, these are kept in a different area. Should the children want to buy any snack in school, they need to bring in 30p per day per piece of fruit. It is the children’s responsibility to take care of this money, so we suggest sending the money into school in a wallet or purse clearly labelled with your child’s name.
In our mission to stay fit and healthy we are taking part in the ‘Daily Mile’ initiative – http://thedailymile.co.uk. Throughout the week children and teachers will go for a mile run around the school grounds. The children will need to make sure they bring a waterproof coat each day in case of wet weather. There is no need to send in trainers, but sensible shoes that won’t slip off should be worn to school every day.
Class Dojo, Schoop and School Website
Class Dojo is a brilliant resource which helps teachers and parents communicate, so we encourage anyone who is not yet connected to do so soon. Please keep an eye out for a letter with a unique code which enables you to sign up.
Please also remember to check Schoop regularly so that you are kept up to date with newsletters and information. The code is 5427 once you have downloaded the app.
We will also be communicating important information (including weekly homework tasks) via the year group Twitter Page.
Homework tasks are set termly. These include activities on Activelearn, Giglets and creative tasks which you may complete in your own time and share with us on Twitter or by sending into class.

In Year 3, the children still need to bring their book bag containing their reading book every day. They will also have the opportunity to take home a library book if they wish. Adults will read with your child regularly.
Please read with your child regularly at home. This is the best way to support your child. Fill in the reading record book and once your child can read their book fluently, recall what has happened and answer questions about what they have read, let us know and we can change it if we haven't already.
Many thanks for your continued support and co-operation.
