Reception/ Dosbarth Derbyn

Croeso i Dosbarth Derbyn!

Here in Reception we have adopted the 'Curiosity Approach' in our teaching and learning. This approach encourages children to explore, investigate and discover the world around them. We provide real life, authentic experiences for children that are built around their interests. This approach emphasises child-led learning where opportunities are provided for children to make their own choices, experiment and learn through play. We believe that creating 'a home from home' experience is crucial. Our learning environments are natural and provide a calm, secure and welcoming place for your child to thrive.

Planning in the Moment

“Planning in the Moment” is a way of working where we respond to children’s ideas and interests as they happen. Instead of following a fixed plan, we observe what excites your child, join in their play, and extend their learning naturally. This means every day is tailored to their curiosity, helping them explore, discover, and develop new skills in a fun and meaningful way.
