Personalised Assessments

Personalised Assessment will take place between Monday 2nd June to Friday 20th June 2025.

Personalised assessments provide feedback on learners’ reading and numeracy skills so that learners, their teachers and their parents/carers can understand where they are in their learning journey. The information from the assessments helps teachers to plan next steps and to support learners to make progress.

Children in Year Two to Six will complete Personalised Assessments in reading and numeracy.

It is really important that your child is in school to take the tests.

Click below to find out more about the National Tests:

Reading:

The reading tests are made up of short questions based on two or more texts. Some of the questions check how well the text has been understood, others aim to find out if children are able to make judgements about what they are reading.

Numeracy:

There are two numeracy tests - one on numeracy procedural - children knowing about their number facts and working out simple problems and numeracy reasoning - this is where they have to use and apply their numeracy skills to solve a range of mathematical problems.
