At Coed Glas we put the wellbeing of the children at the heart of all we do. To help us do this most effectively we have embedded the Thrive approach across the school. Together, all staff are committed to supporting and encouraging the development of confident, curious, creative and capable children who are open to learning and better equipped to deal with life’s ups and downs.
What is Thrive?
The Thrive Approach was founded in 1994 and is based on established neuroscience, attachment theory and child development.
Thrive is a specific way of working with all children that helps to develop their social and emotional wellbeing, enabling them to engage with life and learning. It supports them in becoming more self assured, capable and adaptable. It can also address any troubling behaviours providing a firm foundation for academic attainment.
Children at our school will experience either whole class, small group or individual Thrive sessions with one of our Thrive trained practitioners.
Why might some children need Thrive sessions?
Unfortunately, (like all of us at some point in our lives), children may face challenges that knock them off course. What is needed then is understanding and support to get them back on track.
